Abu Dhabi is the capital and the second most populous city of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is the largest of the seven emirates. The city was founded in 1761 by the Bani Yas tribe, a branch of the Al Nahyan family. The city was originally a fishing and pearling village, but it quickly grew to become a major trading port. In the late 19th century, the city was ruled by the Al Nahyan family, who established a strong presence in the region.
In the early 20th century, Abu Dhabi became a British protectorate, and in 1971, it became part of the newly formed United Arab Emirates. Since then, the city has experienced rapid growth and development, becoming a major financial and cultural center in the region. Today, Abu Dhabi is a modern city with a thriving economy, a vibrant culture, and a wide range of attractions.
