Adelianos Kampos is a small village located in the Rethymno region of Crete, Greece. It is situated on the south coast of the island, about 25 km east of Rethymno. The village is believed to have been founded in the late 16th century by a group of Cretan refugees who had fled from the Ottoman Empire. The village was named after the Greek word for “field”, adelos, and the word for “camp”, kampos.
The village has a long history of agricultural production, with olives, grapes, and other fruits and vegetables being grown in the area. The village also has a long tradition of fishing, with the local fishermen catching a variety of fish, including sea bass, sea bream, and red mullet.
