Turkey History

Turkey is a country located in the Middle East and Southeastern Europe. It has a long and complex history that dates back to the Paleolithic era. The first known inhabitants of the region were the Hittites, who established an empire in the region in the 2nd millennium BC. The Hittite Empire was eventually conquered by the Persian Empire in the 6th century BC. The region was then conquered by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC and became part of the Roman Empire in the 1st century BC. In the 11th century, the Seljuk Turks established a powerful empire in the region, which was eventually conquered by the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. The Ottoman Empire was one of the most powerful empires in the world and lasted until the early 20th century. During this period, the Ottoman Empire was a major power in the Middle East and Europe, and its influence extended to North Africa and parts of Asia. At the end of World War I, the Ottoman Empire was dissolved and the modern Republic of Turkey was established in 1923. Since then, Turkey has become a major regional power and a member of NATO. It has also become an increasingly important player in international politics and economics.
