Bangkok by Night: Temples, Markets and Food by Tuk-Tuk

This night tour was awarded TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice "No. 1 Experience in Thailand" in 2018 & 2020, and for good reason. Exploring at night and by the iconic tuk tuk is a great way to discover Bangkok and learn about the local culture. On this 4-hour tour you will: • Whizz around Bangkok in a tuk tuk • Visit The Flower Market, the grounds of Wat Arun, and Chinatown • Explore the historic part of Bangkok, and see famous temples and sights illuminated at night • Enjoy snacks, dinner and a dessert! This is considered a cultural tour with food. However, it should not be considered an in-depth food tour. This tour is available in 2 options: • Small group join in tour with maximum 10 guests (available Wed / Fri / Sat / Sun) • Private Tour for just yourself. NOTE: We are now regularly running this tour after almost 2 years disruption due to COVID. We are regularly reviewing the route and may make changes as needed.

Points Of Interest

  • 10 minutes: For this tour your will need to make your way to our meeting point at Krung Thonburi BTS Station. Here you will meet your guide, who will introduce the tour before you hop into your tuk-tuk (2 or 3 people per tuk tuk). Krung Thonburi is the first station when you cross over the river to the Thonburi side of Bangkok. Thonburi has a much more local feel and we will explore both local life and history on this side of the river before crossing over to the historic area of Rattanakosin.
  • 30 minutes: We will stop at a local street food market area to sample a selection of snacks and learn about the local way of life and culture.
  • 30 minutes: Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn) is one of Bangkok's most famous temples, but very few people get to explore it after dark, when it is beautifully lit up. While some of the buildings are closed, the grounds are magnificent at night and truly memorable.
  • 30 minutes: We will cross back over the river to explore the historic area of Rattanakosin, which is where many of the most famous landmarks in Bangkok are.
  • 10 minutes: The Giant Swing is one of the key landmarks of Bangkok and we will stop here to briefly learn about its history.
  • 40 minutes: We will stop at a local restaurant for dinner. Our restaurant choice does change to ensure we best accommodate the group.
  • minutes: We will pass by The Grand Palace, and while it is closed in the evening it makes a great photo stop with it lit up in the background.
  • minutes: This stop is currently suspended as Wat Pho is currently shut at night. Once it is re-opened we will stop here again. In the interim, we will visit Wat Arun instead.
  • 30 minutes: We will take a walk through the famous Bangkok Flower Market that runs 24 hours a day and comes alive at night.
  • 30 minutes: The final stop will be in Chinatown. At night Chinatown comes to life with street food vendors and we will finish the tour with dessert.
