This walking tour takes around the streets of Picadilly, St James and Westminster and takes us to places that were important in the life of Churchill. Finally we finish at the Churchill War Rooms, the underground bunker from which Churchill ran the war and which are perfectly preserved to this day. Our Churchill tour has even been featured on international television.

  • 5 minutes: One of the oldest shops in London. They've supplied hats to everyone from Sir Winston Churchill to Oddjob... the chap who could cut off the heads of statues in James Bond.
  • minutes: We will see the senior Royal Palace (above even Buckingham Palace) where Prince Charles lives today.
  • 10 minutes: We will pass along London's premier ceremonial road.
  • 5 minutes: We will visit the Reform Club, one of the greatest Gentlemans Clubs in the world and find out about Churchill's time there.
  • 10 minutes: Here we will see monuments relating to the Battle of Britain as well as the only 'NAZI' memorial in Britain and we'll find out why this incredible situation came about.

  • 5 minutes: Get up close and personal with the offices where Churchill worked during WW1.
  • 5 minutes: London's number one public square with its famous memorials to another British hero, Lord Nelson.
  • 5 minutes: We will also learn about the Womens Cenotaph and find out the meanings behind the carvings on the memorial.
  • 5 minutes: We will see numerous memorials on this walk, none more important than to this man who Winston rightly gives so much credit to for winning the Battle of Britain.
  • 5 minutes: Stand outside the gates of Downing Street home of British Prime Ministers through the centuries from Churchill to Lloyd-George to Thatcher and Blair.
  • 5 minutes: We'll see the famous Ministry of Defence and old War Office as well as the statues of the WW2 generals and learn about the tempestuous relation between Monty and Churchill
  • 10 minutes: We will visit this famous military location and see the Citadel from WW2 and find out what it was for and why Churchill hated it.
  • 5 minutes: Our primary monument to remember our fallen from The Great War onwards.
  • 120 minutes: Explore the underground bunker from where Prime Minister Sir Winston Churchill ran the war as London above was being bombed. Perfectly preserved as it was in 1945.
  • 5 minutes: The Mother of all Parliaments.
  • 5 minutes: The Church where Sir Winston Churchill got married in.
  • 15 minutes: We will explore Parliament Square and learn of its importance to politics and democracy. We will also see from the outside, the church where Winston and Clemmie got married.

  • We have earmarked this tour as especially safe during the Coronavirus outbreak due to generally quiet places that we visit where social distancing is generally not a problem. All of our tours are private so it is just you/your family and your guide.  To make it easier and safer for all concerned we would suggest starting this tour a little later than the usual time, perhaps around 10.30-11am which allows us all to miss rush-hour. We are happy to still come to your hotel to meet you but for the moment we would suggest meeting us at the tour starting point.  This allows you to arrive by a taxi or uber rather than public transport. Please feel free to wear masks throughout or at times during the tour.  Your guide will also have a mask with them. Please note the War Rooms may not be open depending on your chosen date, if that is the case we will refund that portion of the tour price.
